We received a request a couple of months ago to compose a wedding cake for an Oreo cookie lover. This cake was great to make and also a learning process over all. Over time I have made a Gazillion ice cream cakes with ice cream sandwiched in the middle but never a cookie novelty cake. We had hotel guests follow us to the banquet room to watch us set it up, it was such a great feeling. This cake was created with Chocolate Pound Cake as the tops and bottoms and vanilla cake centers. We iced up each layer in Faux Oreo Cookie Icing, which we created to compliment the cake. It really does look and taste like the real thing.
Good one! I am sure my sister is going to like a cake like this. Her wedding is near and she is tying the knot in one of her favorite San Francisco wedding venues. I am planning her bridal shower before that and a cake like this is going to be amazing.
