It's baby time at the Bakery. Here we have created a Baby Bump Cake with Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Pound Cake filled and covered with Vanilla Cream and wrapped in Chocolate.
Our new customer Alex, called as a few days ago to order a cake for the owners of Dock Street Oyster Bar. He had said that he had heard great things about our bakery, and wanted a carved cake that was somewhat sexy for an expectant mother, so I got to work. I sent him an e-mail explaining that I've not ever done a cake like this before, and he put his trust in my bakery. I'm mentioning this because as a pastry chef, I can assure you that everything will taste unbelievable, but as the stakes get higher in the bakery world because of the Food Network, or even The Cake Boss more pressure gets put on the neigborhood bakeries. Sometimes I don't know if it helps bakeries or hurts them, but this is my chance to tell Wilmington, we may not get your request right evrytime if it's our first time making it, all we can do is try. Well it seems like we got this right the first time. Thank You Alex, for giving us this opportunity. We hope more to come.
